History:

early 20th century  --  Ray Thompson owned this land that was then considered far out of town. 

The Thompson Sanctuary is part of his estate, a gift from his daughter, Ruth Thompson.

The Greenwich Land Trust and members of a neighborhood association now preside over the property.


Habitats:

Thompson Pond (where neighbors camped, fished and ice skated)
