Merritt Parkway north for a little less than 27 miles to get off at Exit 44; turn left onto Congress Street; turn left (south) onto Burr Street;  turn right onto Duck Farm Road; drive about 0.2 of a mile and just before reach the bridge over the Mill River park along the right (east) side of  Duck Farm Road.  Cross over the road to the old abandoned Hunter Road which is one of the paths for the open space.

Trails:

12/07/2005.  We parked at a pull-off on the east side of the road across from the path entrance by the river highway bridge.  The path is an old abandoned asphalt road that heads south parallel with the river.  Houses with fences are on the left.  We pass a large grassy marsh and then a swampy area.  The asphalt path ends when it reaches the Riverside School baseball diamond.  At the baseball field fence the blue trail starts.  It heads to Mill River and then parallels it until the way is blocked by a fence on private land.  We turn around and walk back to the car.  It is a short walk, but enjoyable.   Dr. Patrick L. Cooney.
