Puglio Park

This park borders the northeast corner of Veterans Park.

Directions:

North End Library: 3455 Madison Avenue, in the “North Branch Community Room”. PH: 576-8113. The library is located 1 mile south of the Trumbull Shopping Center on Madison Avenue and the driveway is directly across from Indian Field Road & runs along side Puglio Park Tennis Courts.

MERRITT PARKWAY (N or S):  Northbranch Library

• Exit 47, Park Avenue.
• Turn left at the end of the exit.
• At the first traffic light take a left onto Old Town Road.
• At the next traffic light take a right onto Madison Avenue.
• At stop sign bear left.
  
  Library is on the right just past the Puglio Park playground.

Trails:

11/30/2005.  On an overcast day, Ceferino Santana, dog Sonar and I parked at a parking area on Macon Drive across from the park.  The park is adjacent to the North Branch Library Community Center (which is across from Indian Field Road).

An asphalt path heads from the playground area bending around to the community center. Going straight instead of turning left to the community center, a grass path heads west along the power cut for the electrical power lines.

Unfortunately, we did not get very far because the rains of the night before left large pools of water that we could not cross without getting very wet.

One should be able to reach Veterans Park via this power cut that also goes across that park.

Stopped by the waters, we turned around and walked back to car.  Dr. Patrick L. Cooney.
