A permit is required to visit the sanctuary by going to the Oyster Bay Town Hall South, 977 Hicksville Road, Massapequa


Directions:

go east on Ocean Parkway to the Jones Beach traffic circle; drive 4 miles to Tobay Beach parking lots (just east of parking area 9); drive west along the south border of the lot; drive along a road to the parking area for the sanctuary.


History:

Established in 1959, the sanctuary is owned by the Town of Oyster Bay and managed by the New York State Conservation Department Visitors must obtain a pass from the Parks Department, 977 Hicksville Road, Massapequa, 7974114.
