From east side of NY 22, proceed east, following posts along
field
turn left onto paved Hurds Corners Road
turn right to enter woods and Pawling Nature Reserve on Hammersly
Ridge

cross brook, pass through field, ascending gradually
bear left and reenter woods; soon cross old stone wall
turn right before reaching gap in stone wall
reach top of ridge, and begin to descend
cross red-blazed trail
pass swamp to left of trail
2.2 miles yellow blazed trail of Pawling Nature Reserve
