Directions:
From the Long Island Expressway (495) take Exit 56 and go north on Rte. 111
(Wheeler Rd.) for 1.8 miles. Turn left at the light, continuing on Rte. 111 (now
Hauppauge Rd.) for 2.3 miles to the junction of Rte. 25 and Rte 25A. Go straight
across Rte 25 onto Rte 25A (North Country Rd.) and continue 4.3 miles. Turn left
(north) onto Shep Jones Lane and proceed about 0.5 mile. The parking area is
just off the road to the left in the Preserve's northeast corner. Look for The
Nature Conservancy's oak leaf sign.
