Directions:

From the war memorial at the intersection of Route 27/Main Street/Montauk Highway and Atlantic Avenue in Amagansett, go south on Atlantic Avenue for 0.9 of a mile.


History:

1983 -- $550,000 is raised toward land acquisitions at the Atlantic Double Dunes Preserve and a stewardship fund is started.


Habitats:

A continuation of the barrier beach system east on the South Fork, the double dunes area begins at Wiborg's in East Hampton Village.
