Elizabeth and John Ohly wanted to save most of their 170-acre farm in the family for more than two centuries. 150 acres of the original 170 acres are protected permanently through the granting of conservation easements and the outright donation of land.
They sold the farm to Commonwealth Land Concepts, Inc. (CLC), a company offering alternative ways to develop property. The comprise was to develop part of the property while saving most of it as open space.
