Brooklyn Queens Greenbelt
Queens County, NY

Trail:

Picked up the Greenway in Fresh Meadows near the home of my friend Phil Duckett on Peck Avenue (just below P.S. 129) near the corner with 67th Avenue.  We started at the 3 mile point marker and went to near 0.

Crossed over 73rd Avenue into Cunningham Park.
Near 75h Avenue head over Francis Lewis Boulevard.  Come to an historical marker that mentions that the Greenbelt was once the Vanderbilt Motorway.

Pass an ephemeral pond (still in Cunningham Park) and then skirt the south end of the ball fields.

Go under Clearview Expressway.  Parking area.  Turn right.

Sign saying leaving Cunningham Park.

Hollis Hills Road overpass.  Near Richland Avenue.  Walking behind lots of backyards.  Pass Bell Boulevard. Paralleling 77th Avenue and Kingsbury.

Go over Springfield Boulevard.

Enter Alley Pond Park.  On the left we come to what remains of Little Alley Pond (which is often dried up these days, but not now).

Go under Grand Central Parkway.  Can see Creedmoor Hospital in the distance.

Come to the ballfields and tennis courts of the Athletic Park field of Alley Pond Park.
