This
view of the Valentine's driver's station gives some indication of it's
cramped environment. Note that one can clearly see the lower part
of the turret basket immediately behind the gentleman in the driver's seat.
The holes there are for ammunition stowage for the main gun. The two horseshoe-shaped
devices above the driver are his periscope protectors. Note that he has
a vision port immediately in front of his face - open in this case - but
visibility is nonetheless limited. |
