| At the
reception following the ceremony, it was striking to see how a healthy
dose of interservice rivalry was kept alive by the veterans. For example,
foot soldiers commented that the only thing those stupid tanks did was
to attract enemy fire, while tankers were of course convinced that they
were the ones that came to the rescue of the infantry! |
