MICROPHONES REPAIR AND RECONDITIONING
A frequent question addressed to this Web site concerns resources for the repair and/or refurbishment of vintage microphones. Regrettably, most of the major manufacturers of vintage microphones have either long since gone out of business, (e.g., Amperite, American, Turner, Universal, et. al.), disbanded microphone manufacturing activities (e.g., RCA, Western Electric, et. al.), or no longer service outdated, discontinued microphone models (e.g., Shure Brothers and Electro-Voice).
Over the years I have become aware of certain individuals and/or commercial firms that specialize in microphone repair/refurbishment and accordingly, I have attempted to establish formal contact in order to obtain permission to list their name/company on this Web site. Unfortunately, the reply response has not been overwhelmingly positive. This Web site is of the firm belief that everyone is entitled to a right of privacy and/or how its trade (business) name may be used; ergo, publishing such information on the Internet in absence of their expressed permission simply would not be appropriate.
