Included are unpublished typewritten notes:

"The mansion of E.H. Butler, with its beautiful and extensive grounds always attracts the attention of visitors to Germantown. In 1809 the frame house of Joshua Butcher stood upon what is now a part of the lawn. George Wunder's house also stood where the lawn is, as did also the house of William Butcher, who lived next door above George Wunder."
