The image shows a mixture of red brick and wooden clapboard buildings. The white Washington Circus is the latter. It is the largest building in the scene. There is "Ticket Office" on the front of the edifice and the United States flag flies from the roof. Eleven figures are on the sidewalk and a solitary horseman is in the street. The curbside trees are leafless, while the ones behind the walls surroungd the building and in the background are greening.
