RACE THROUGH
PHILADELPHIA !!!!!!!!!!!!
Baxter wanted to create images that would capture the way the city looked for history and act as an advertisement for the various businesses that occupied that street. These are important to us today, because they give us really specific information about how individual streets looked at a certain time. Click on the image to see a larger version of this picture. If you look closely you can see signs for different businesses. How many different names can you pick out? What other things can you see? This kind of picture is called a panorama. A panorama is a wide view that takes in a whole a scene instead of just the parts, so that you can get a really good idea of how it looks all together.
