GAGES AND MEASURING DEVICES
PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE GAGES
Control Air - Usually located in the air brake compartment. Normal air pressure is 70 psi.
Intake Manifold Air-pressure Gage - Located above the engine control panel in the operator's cab. Normal reading at FUEL ENGINE SPEED and FULL LOAD is 23.5 to 27.0 psi after about 15 minutes of running under such conditions.
Fuel Pressure Gage - Located above the engine control panel in the operator's cab. Normal fuel pressure at IDLE is 20 to 22 psi and at FULL LOAD it is 18 to 20 psi.
Lube-oil Pressure Gage - Located above the engine control panel in the operator's cab. Normal lube pressure at IDLE is 20 psi and at FULL LOAD it is 64 to 70 psi.
Water Temperature Gage - Located on the right side of the water storage tank. Normal operating temperature is 160-180 F. (See Figure 8).
OTHER GAGES
Engine Lubricating-oil Dipstick - Located on the left side of the engine near the lube-oil fill. The stick is marked LOW and FULL. The proper level with the engine idling is FULL. (See Figure 9)
Fuel-oil Sight Glasses - Mounted on both sides of the main fuel tank to indicate the level of fuel in the tanks. (See Figure 10)
Cooling Water - A sight glass mounted on the side of the cooling water supply tank indicates the level of cooling water in the system. Marking on the tank indicate the proper level for conditions.
