Hoboken Terminal Rehabilitation Project Goals

 

Expansion and Modernization of the Rail Yard to meet Train Storage and Maintenance needs well beyond the year 2000.

  • Colocation of Power Dispatch, Train Dispatch and Yard Tower functions into a state of the art facility at the Meadows Maintenance Complex.

  • Relocation of B&B and MoW Crews into new modern crewquarters at Henderson Street.

  • Relocation of Transportation and Station functions into a new office building.

  • Relocation of Yard functions into a new Running Repair Shop.

  • Expansion of Rail Yard Storage.

  • Construction Phasing Plan which will not disrupt Rail Service.

Restoration of the Terminal Building into a first class Passenger Facility with maximized opportunities for compatible real estate development. This will include relocating all non passenger contact functions out of the Terminal & YMCA Building.

  • Implementation of the Core Passenger Facilities Plan

  • Restoring Passenger Ferry Service to the Ferry Terminal

Expansion and Modernization of Bus Terminal

  • Capacity to deal with PATH Emergencies
