HOBOKEN FESTIVAL XVI
Try-Transit Festival '97

On May 17, 1997, NJ TRANSIT hosted the 16th Annual Hoboken Festival at NJT's historic Hoboken Terminal. Previously held in September, the festival was renamed the Try Transit Festival to recognize National Try Transit Week, which concluded in New Jersey with the Festival. As usual, historic and current bus and rail displays were at the festival, as well as railroadiana vendors, international foods, and a model railroad display. The key visitor to this year's festival was Ross Rowland's Iron Horse Enterprises ex-C&O Greenbrier #614 steam locomotive. Current displays were highlighted by NJ TRANSIT's new Bombardier Comet IV Rail Cars.
