In San Francisco

The Belgian Expeditionary Corps to Russia was one of the first large sized groups of actual Great War combat veterans to arrive in the United States. By 1918, Belgium's reputation as as heroic underdog and valiant combattant had already been established by 4 years of 'Brave Little Belgium' propaganda in the newsmedia. The Armored Car Regiment, having bravely fought on the Eastern Front and having completed an epic and hazardous journey across Siberia, Northern China and Korea, was warmly and wildly acclaimed as it journied across the American continent from San Francisco to New York, stopping at many cities and towns along the way.
