'The Field'
The sub-title of this magazine describes it quite well - 'the Country Gentleman's Newspaper' - though it was more of a thick well printed magazine rather than a daily newspaper. It contained a wealth of war news and photographs, all nicely presented and printed. It is noticeable that the expectation was that this magazine would be read by officers rather than 'other ranks'. The preponderance given to advertisements for stylish and no doubt expensive tailor made officer's kit is just another indication that this was an upper class magazine.
