'I Was There' was a post war publication, the first issue appearing in the autumn of 1938, around the 20th anniversary of the end of the war. Of course it is not a war time magazine but since it is entirely devoted to true memoires and events of the Great War, it is of interest to mention it nonetheless.
The magazine is almost entirely concerned with events pertaining to the British experience during the war. Many detailed and exact events and occurences are told. The accompanying photographs are also plentiful and well printed, many showing locations and otherwise unpublished shots of participants and battles. The issues contain a wealth of information.
