a pulp novelette from 1918 about French nurses

'Souvenirs d'une Infirmiére'

Here is a series of line drawings from a cheap war-time novelette depicting what were perceived to be typical activities of a French nurse. In the popular mind, nurses were expected to be good cheerful companions, showing motherly care for wounded soldiers, rather than professional medical training. Reality tended to be somewhat different.
