'Un Gosse Héroique' - A Heroic Youngster
Here we have the illustrations from a French patriotic penny novel. The story is similar to all others. A youngster of 14 has lost his parents near the battlefield and is found by sympathetic French soldiers. They take him along to their cantonement and hide him from the officers. Circumstances take him into battle where he proves himself as brave as any grown-up.
