'le Courrier de l'Armée/de Legerbode' (the Army Courier) was the official publication of the Belgian Army. It was a bi-lingual magazine, printed in both French and Flemish in each single issue. The copies shown above date from 1920, the immediate post-war period, but a casual observor would at times be hard put not to think that these were war-time issues. The memory of the Great War was far from over as far as the editors of this magazine were concerned.

Issues contained not only general army news, but also memoires of Belgian soldiers and officiers, accounts of battles and military events and many interesting photos. As can be seen from the cover pages above, the stand of the Belgian Army on the Yser Front was considered to be the single most defining event of the Great War for the Belgian Army.
