One Man Television Station From General Electric
Many of the 1100 small cities allotted TV channels by the FCC found that the cost of a conventional TV station was a stumbling block. GE is offering a new "package" station requiring but a single technical operator to prepare and broadcast film and network programs. This provides a means for station owners to get on the air with a minimum investment, said Frank P. Barnes, G-E broadcast equipment manager. The "package" station will be available for either VHF or UHF telecasting in several different power ratings. Text and photo from May 1953 edition of The Monogram, a GE publication.
