Studio 5 DuMont Tele-Centre
"The Tele-Centre is dedicated to efficiency and utility.  
It is the latest achievement in the science of modern broadcasting"  June 14. 1954.
A complexly self-contained TV production facility at 205 E. 67th Street in New York City.
The building is the former Central Opera House.  Five million dollars in construction and equipment
has gone into the Tele-Centre, which is the largest facility of its kind on the Atlantic seacoast.
A unique feature developed solely for the Tele-Centre is the switching center is each control room.
Both the program director and the engineer at their position can see the picture being transmitted by each of the
four studio cameras in addition to the film studio and/or remote locations, the only one of its kind in television.
Television's most modern master control room, nerve center of the Tele-Centre is the final check point. 
Pre-set features enable engineers to establish cable routes for network programs in advance.
Studio 5.... is 352.000 cubic feet, 110 x 80 ft and 40 foot ceilings, the largest Television studio on the East Coast.
High-fidelity Teletranscriptions, originated in the Allan B. DuMont Laboratories, are turned out in the Tele-Centre 
by four of the newest units used in television and used for delayed telecast along the DuMont Television Network. 
The 5 studios of the DuMont Tele-Centre are the origination points for more than 160 television programs a week.    
They travel from here to the New York audience via the WABD transmitter atop the Empire State Building 
and beyond via A.T. & T 's  transcontinental facilities
