Well, you might be able to guess that this was my first ever train photo. This is Delaware & Hudson train PYPO (most likely) traveling east (north) across Conrail's Rockville Bridge in Harrisburg, PA. This photo was taken on June 6, 1988 on an instamatic ASA200 camera...
Shown full size Here is a picture of Conrail's Electronic Controlled Pneumatic brakes train, at Hershey PA. This is train XSG-18E on February 2, 1997. The coal test train has been running on UEP/XSG Eddystone coal trains using SD60M's 5521-5523 and 5525 for power. (Image shown full-size)
This is a picture of an ECP-equipped hopper car. Note the yellow painted corners. Another spotting feature (at night) is the LED (light-emitting diode) on the CCU (Car Control Unit) on one end of the car. (Image shown full-size) Shown full size
This is a Reading & Northern passenger excursion at a photo runby at Tamaqua tunnel. This trip ran in June, 1992; and was one of the first passenger trips from Leesport to Jim Thorpe over the then-new connection from the R&N to the Carbon & Schuylkill at Haucks.
LMS 712 is a C40-8W leased by Conrail. LMS stands for Locomotive Management Services, which is co-owned by General Electric and Conrail. These units have spent much time on Canadian National and Union Pacific. Note the retrofit air conditioner to the rear of the left (fireman's) side of the cab.
Oops! That about sums this one up... Used to be C36-7 6641.
