Sanhican Lodge Flap Set 1975 to 1982

Dr. Larry Gering writes:
"The four flaps similar to Sanhican S1 were created in 1975 for the 1976 Bicentennial. These flaps are not listed in the Blue Book and are not official issues.

Curly Edwards had the complete set in a frame in his house before he passed and his massive collection was dispersed to NYC and Philly. I believe Ray Carey ordered the set from Leonard Patch Company. To the best of my recollection, only a handful of the various borders were created (relatively simple to put a different border on a flap) but the flaps were never approved and never ordered. We really wanted the RWB but the lodge had no dollars in its account and our credit was horrible so we couldn't afford to order any flaps or patches

I know this for an absolute fact because I was Sanhican Lodge Chief in 1975 (and I didn't get a set of the prototypes for myself). If I wanted to rummage through boxes, I could find the quote from the company and the executive committee's decision to wait until we had some dollors after the Lodge Pilgrimage in 1976 (never did get the money)"

The three patches shown in the second row are contributed by Ed Dworak. They are NOT official patches and are NOT in the Blue Book. They have been included in our collection for general interest.
