The Last House in Tilly
From the museum go west and join Rue du 18 Juin; here go left and follow the road out of the village - you will pass the village name sign. Continue to the next group of houses on your right, and you will see the ruined house. There is a locked gate, with enough room to pull off this narrow road.
Tilly-sur-Seulles lay in ruins following the fighting of June 1944, and had to be rebuilt in the years following WW2. The only house that survived was this one, on the western outskirts of the village. It stands in the state it was left in 1944 in mute testimony to the destruction of one Normandy village.
