Historical Links

Here are some highlights I have found of the history of WNBC.

Prior to it's sign off, Dale Parsons and some other talented people produced a special titled "WNBC The First 66 Years."    Visit the Sounds of 66 section for a real audio version.

Also recommended is NBC Radio Networks "The First Fabulous Fifty." I came across it in a University library.

They have links to quite a few real old time radio programs that are available on the net in Real Audio and other digital formats, including old NBC programs.
bulletJeff Miller's Broadcasting History Collections
Jeff has done a fantastic job on radio history.  Things to look for include: History of NYC AM Calls (Tracks by Frequency), and the 1962 Broadcasting article that discusses the first radio advertisement (on WEAF)
My recommendation: If you have ever listened to the radio, go to this site, and spend several hours reading the whole thing.
